Hair Restoration Using PRP and Microneedling
How Microneedling and PRP Work
Microneedling is a process where tiny sterile needles create micro injuries at the surface of the scalp. This process opens pathways or channels in the skin. The micro injury causes natural wound healing and encourages the production of collagen and elastin.
PRP, or platelet-rich plasma therapy, involves using a patient’s own blood cells to heal and rejuvenate the scalp. A blood sample is drawn and processed in a centrifuge. The portion of the blood that contains plasma and platelets is then removed for injection. After microneedling, the PRP is injected into the scalp, targeting areas with thinning hair. The PRP is absorbed and enhances the effectiveness of the procedure by revitalizing dormant hair follicles and increasing blood flow to encourage natural hair growth.
